WHY USE A FLEXIBLE METAL HOSE AND NOT A RUBBER HOSE?

Wherever elastomers or polymers cannot be used, for:

High or low fluid temperature outside the compatibility range of plastic materials.

Safety: areas with critical temperatures that can alter the characteristics of a possible plastic pipe.

Water resistance: elastomers and polymers are permeable. This feature penalizes the use on heating systems that do not like the oxygenation of fluids in circulation. The application in high vacuum systems represents the most significant expression of the sealing qualities of the flexible metal pipe.

Durability: the metal is not subject to the ageing processes typical of rubber and plastics. The flexible metal hose is used in most domestic and industrial gas supply connections.

Dimensional stability: the flexible metal hose has a high diametric stability, withstands large radial loads and very narrow bends without diameter variation.

Fluid compatibility: Stainless steel has excellent oil resistance characteristics and in combination with temperature resistance, is widely used in the automotive industry, for example in turbine oil drain pipes, water recirculation pipes and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipes.

Hygiene: Flexible metal hoses can be sterilised at high temperatures without any problems.

INDUSTRIAL REFRIGERATION

Our flexible hoses – extensible and non-extensible – are suitable for the connection of domestic and industrial users. The expansion compensators solve any conveying need and are also made to customer’s request, whatever the requirements to be met.

AUTOMOTIVE

With our hoses for the connection of the water and engine oil circuits and EGR, which can be designed and assimilated at the customer’s request, we are able to meet the most complex requirements thanks to the flexibility that has always distinguished Astroflex®.

HIGH VACUUM

We solve the problem of the connection between vacuum pumps and utilities in heat treatment and coating plants, testing plants, spectrometers, gas chromatographs. Our flagship product are the anti-vibration dampers for the vacuum chambers of electronic microscopes, which are essential to protect the stability and definition of the image from the vibrations generated by the pump.

TECHNICAL GASES
